About this Position

You will utilize your previous experience in OSP and ISP operations to support network operations. This position will perform fiber optic splicing and testing, MDF and IDF installations, QC operations for network installations, preventative maintenance efforts on critical infrastructure and network elements, and respond to emergency situations. 

This is a full time position with potential requirements for after hours support—both proactive and reactive based on needs.

What you'd be doing:

  • Perform installation of FDPs and network equipment inside MXUs
  • Splice and test ISP and OSP fiber based on construction plans
  • Install -48DC powered equipment based on LLD
  • Rack and stack network equipment based on LLD
  • Perform routine maintenance on network elements and critical infrastructure
  • Assist with installation of ISP cabling
  • Ensure network integrity is maintained at all times

Experience we require:

  • 2 plus years of previous experience in telecommunications, fiber splicing, business installation, FLM (Front Line Maintenance), and service for electronics and appliances, security, cabling and custom install solutions
  • Experience working in the field independently and thriving in a fast-paced environment
  • DC Power experience with -48VDC systems, installation of tertiary power systems to Telecordia Standards
  • OEM Certifications from carrier and test equipment manufacturers
  • Ability to splice, test, measure and troubleshoot fiber optic networks
  • Ability to read As-Built drawings and construction documentation
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 51 pounds), working at heights (15 to 25 feet above the ground), in confined spaces (attics and crawl spaces), and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain lift certification for bucket trucks, material handling equipment and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to work on call, evenings, and weekends as require
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license
