Compensation

Salary Range:

About this Position

The Procurement & Inventory Manager performs all aspects of purchasing for the company and manages the inventory, distribution, and control of those items. The Manager will identify the vendors for the respective products according to specs, confirm all aspects of pricing, confirm all deliveries, and maintain an inventory control database for supplies and materials used. The Manager is also expected to maintain knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability and direct purchasing programs accordingly. The position reports to the Director of Industry Partnerships & Supply Chain Management.

What you'd be doing:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
  • Purchase supplies, materials, and parts for the company—including large and complex items 
  • Review purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
  • Develop and maintain inventory databases for supplies and materials 
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, construction, and customer service to develop and implement policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Conduct records audit of inventory, adjustments, and other metrics and prepare monthly/ quarterly/ annual reports of findings to management
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; direct purchasing programs accordingly.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power

Experience we require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field with coursework in purchasing and/or inventory control management required.
  • Must have at least five years of experience in Procurement and Inventory Management

Bonus points:

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel, and flexibility to work on weekends or work long hours
