Tom Marx is the Chief Commercial Officer at Underline, where he leads Revenue, Marketing, Market Development & Intelligence, and Client Lifecycle efforts. With a passion for connecting communities and empowering businesses, Tom brings deep industry expertise to help accelerate Underline’s commercial growth and strengthen its position as a leader in intelligent community infrastructure.
With more than 25 years of leadership experience in the fiber infrastructure, data center, and telecommunications industries, Tom is known for building high-performing teams, driving innovative go-to-market strategies, and fostering strong client relationships.
Most recently, he served as CEO of Kansas Fiber Network (KFN), guiding the company’s strategic expansion of high-capacity connectivity across the Midwest. Before KFN, Tom was Chief Revenue Officer at Evoque Data Center Solutions where he led teams responsible for more than $200 million in annual revenue across sales, engineering, marketing, and business development. Prior to that, Tom spent 18 years at Lumen Technologies with leadership roles in Wholesale, Data Centers, Alliances, and most recently SVP Global Accounts leading a team of 500 full-time employees and responsible for $2B in revenue. He has also held senior leadership roles at Level 3 Communications, TW Telecom, and XO Communications.
